Hints of oak spice add nuance to the classic dried white flower aromas that precede the broad-shouldered flavors that are clean, dry and ultra intense with real drive on the penetrating and discreetly mineral-suffused as well as notably dry finish that delivers stunning length. At present, this lacks just the last bit of complexity to be at the same level as the Demoiselles but it's not far off. In sum, this is a big and rich but not massive Batard.

The Latour family themselves have been viticulteurs since the 17th century, slowly building up a unique Domaine of 50 hectares (125 acres). This Domaine has the largest Grand Cru property in the Cote d'Or with a total of 28,63 hectares (71,58 acres) . The vineyards extend from Chambertin in the north to Chevalier-Montrachet in the south and are solely planted with the two noble grape varieties ; Pinot Noir and Chardonnay.
