Very polished, with a flattering feel up front and lots of ripe plum, blackberry paste and blueberry reduction notes at the core. Shows some serious grip on the back end, with ganache and graphite accents joining a brambly hint on the finish. This should stretch out in the cellar as both sides come together.

Château Grand-Mayne is a St-Emilion Grand Cru Classé property located north-west of the town of St-Emilion. Its château was built in 1767. The modern era of Chateau Grand Mayne begins in 1934, when Jean Nony, a well-known Bordeaux wine negociant purchased Grand Mayne from the Berbudeau family. Jean Pierre, the son of Jean Nony and Marie Françoise Nony managed the estate from 1977 to 2001. Since the death of her husband Jean Pierre, Marie-Françoise Nony continues managing Chateau Grand Mayne with the help of her two sons, Jean Antoine and Damien.
