Palate: The palate is concentrated and mouthwatering, with juicy stone fruit and subtle tropical characters underpinned by a fine minerality and meyer lemon acidity.

From Winery :
The 2018 growing season began in fine style, with settled conditions and no frost, leading to an early budburst and successful flowering. Work was undertaken in the vineyard to manage both canopies and yield to guarantee that the fruit was of optimum quality and this attention to detail ensured that, while there were several rain events during the latter part of the season, fruit was brought into the winery in excellent condition.

Winemaker's note:
Nose; Appealingly aromatic, the 2017 Pinot Noir reveals notes of Morello cherry and bramble.
Palate: Fine, silky tannins and juicy acidity provide an elegant structure, with complexity coming from gentle toast and woodsmoke characters.

Cloudy Bay was established by David Hohnen, of Cape Mentelle fame, in 1985. Cloudy Bay takes its name from a bay at the northern tip of the South Island named by Captain Cook in 1770.
Cloudy Bay now has 60 hectares of vineyards planted with Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Pinot Noir. Cloudy Bay also sources grapes from elsewhere in the Marlborough region.
Cloudy Bay's staggering success can be attributed to its groundbreaking Sauvignon Blanc, as well as its distinctive labels, which reflect the skyline of the nearby Richmond Ranges. It is now owned by Veuve Clicquot.
Cloudy Bay Chardonnay is an intriguing, textural wine with pure fruit flavours of citrus and stone fruit enhanced by a savoury nuttiness and subtle new oak.
