Charles Noellat’s daughter Odile Noellat married Alain Hudelot later to form Hudelot-Noellat. Charles Noellat died in 1930s and because the domaine owns a few beautiful vineyards such as Richebourg and Romanee-St-Vivant, it attracted Madame Lalou Bize-Leroy who sold one third of interest of Domaine Leroy to Japan’s Takashimaya in exchange of funds to purchase domaine Charles Noellat in 1988 - a move that attributed to the success of Leroy. Though the Domaine was sold, the family kept the rights to the name and original label of the domaine, and nowadays Anne Noellat’s son, Stephan Moreau, uses the the name and label for his unique négociant operation "Charles Noellat" in which he purchases already-bottled wines directly from the cellars of Burgundy.
