The 2011 Vosne-Romanee Les Champs Perdrix is located around 45 meters in altitude farther up the slope from Romanee-Conti and is usually picked about ten days later. It has a slightly subdued bouquet at the moment, but it is nicely defined with subtle Morello cherry and fresh strawberry scents that muster more intensity with aeration, but decline to soar from the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with a feminine, very fresh opening: crisp raspberry and strawberry fruit enmeshed with fine tannins and structure toward the finish. One of those wines where less is more. Drink 2014-2022.

Domaine Bruno Clair is a Burgundy producer with vineyards across the Côte de Nuits and the Côte de Beaune. The majority of its wines are made from Pinot Noir, but it also makes Chardonnay and Aligoté covering the gamut of regional designations from Bourgogne and villages to premier and grand cru. Its most highly regarded sites are in the grand cru vineyards Bonnes-Mares, Corton-Charlemagne and Chambertin-Clos-de-Bèze.
Named for its founder, Bruno Clair was established in 1979 with plots in Marsannay, Fixin, Savigny-les-Beaune and Morey-Saint-Denis. Bruno is the grandson of Bernard Clair, who established highly regarded Burgundy estate Domaine Clair-Daü in 1919. After Bernard died in the late 1970s, there was conflict over how to divide the estate but, in the 1980s, Bruno took on several more family vineyards including ones in esteemed villages such as Gevrey-Chambertin, Vosne-Romanée and Chambolle-Musigny. The purchase of additional vineyards in the 1990s brought the domaine to 23 hectares (57 acres).
