Crossroads was started in 1987 with aim to produce the best possible wine from Hawke’s Bay in New Zealand. Driven by the desire to bring you wines that set the benchmarks of what that variety can achieve in Hawke’s Bay.
The long sunshine hours in Hawke’s Bay makes it the ideal place to grow later ripening grape varieties. At Crossroads, we also grow the region’s top white variety, Chardonnay, as well as Pinot Gris and Gewurztraminer. The terroir in Hawke’s Bay typically creates fruit that can be crafted into wines of great finesse and elegance.
Four of our vineyards are in the renowned Gimblett Gravels appellation. Our Kereru Vineyard also lies on banks of Ngaruroro River. Gravelly soils laid down by the old river were exposed after a huge flood in the 1860s and have proven to produce some of the world’s finest full-bodied red wines.
