Truly incomparable and emotionally thrilling. A wine so rated is as good as a wine gets. By definition, it is reference standard for its appellation.
90 – 94
Outstanding. Worth a special effort to purchase and cellar and will provide memorable drinking experiences.
85 – 89
Good to High quality. Wines that offer solid quality in every respect and generally very good typicity. “Good Value” wines will often fall into this category. Worth your attention.
80 – 84
Average quality. The wine may be “correct”, unless noticeable flaws are indicated in the narrative, and provide straightforward, drinking.

Barely Acceptable quality. The wine is not worth your attention nor is it a good value.

As is usually the case this is more aromatically elegant than the Cazetiers even though the two parcels all but touch one another. A restrained nose offers up notes of plum and high-toned red currant liqueur aromas. The delicious, intense and wonderfully refined medium weight flavors brim with both minerality and plenty of mouth coating dry extract before terminating in a driving and beautifully textured finish that displays strikingly good length. This is a wine of class and harmony.
Named for its founder, Bruno Clair was established in 1979 with plots in Marsannay, Fixin, Savigny-les-Beaune and Morey-Saint-Denis. Bruno is the grandson of Bernard Clair, who established highly regarded Burgundy estate Domaine Clair-Daü in 1919. After Bernard died in the late 1970s, there was conflict over how to divide the estate but, in the 1980s, Bruno took on several more family vineyards including ones in esteemed villages such as Gevrey-Chambertin, Vosne-Romanée and Chambolle-Musigny. The purchase of additional vineyards in the 1990s brought the domaine to 23 hectares (57 acres).
