Domaine Louis Remy Latricieres Chambertin Grand Cru 1996 750ml

An attractive medium deep colour starts this Grand Cru wine on the right road. A bright and energetic nose with plums and ripe strawberries leads to an impressively complex palate with a touch of liquorice. There is still a trace of austerity which will round out in the next few years.

Domaine Louis Rémy has been managed by Chantal Rémy since 1988. The 3.5 hectare domaine can trace its antecedents back all the way to 1821. Chantal has continued the tradition of making gentle, not overtly powerful wines which nonetheless repay keeping, as well as holding back a proportion of the harvest so that the domaine can offer older vintages for sale.
