Penfolds The Rewards of Patience wine book
Australia
Bestseller: Like a great Penfolds red, The Rewards of Patience will keep you captivated for hours.
'The Rewards of Patience' by Andrew Caillard MW, now in its seventh edition, is one of the most ambitious wine books ever published. Two years in the making, it is a collaboration of the world's very best minds in wine, who travelled to Beijing, Berlin, New York and the historic Magill Estate winery to showcase rare and magical vintages of Australia's most prized wines.
This book is unique because no other winery in the world opens its museum cellar for an external, independent assessment of their entire collection extending back over half a century. The book updates previous tasting notes as well as adding new wines assessed by an internationally renowned tasting panel and undertaken at tasting events in Australia, China, Germany and USA.
Since 1844, Penfolds has enjoyed a special place in Australia's wine industry, and within these pages you will find extensive vintage-by-vintage tasting notes accompanied by historic timelines that bring to life the character, enjoyment and inexhaustible freshness of the Penfolds wine experience. Meticulous in execution, beautifully photographed, yet relaxed and informative, The Rewards of Patience is the ultimate wine lover’s bible.

With over 165 years of winemaking experience, the Penfolds winemaking tradition is both firmly established and well proven. It is a way of life; no more evident than in the fact that most members of the winemaking team have worked over twenty vintages each at Penfolds.
Experience has created a tradition of excellence, which in turn has led to the production of quality Australian wines, recognised the world over.
Penfolds has managed to create a truly unique and distinctive winemaking signature the Penfolds stamp, of which every member of the Penfolds winemaking team is immensely and justifiably proud.
RWT Shiraz presents an admirable alternative to the multi-regional sourcing and American oak maturation that are hallmarks of Grange, expressing instead, single-region Barossa Valley Shiraz matured only in French oak. It was launched in May 2000 with the 1997 vintage. Its style is opulent and fleshy, contrasting with Grange, which is more muscular and assertive. RWT is made from fruit primarily selected for its aromatic qualities and fine texture rather than sheer intensity or power of flavour. The result is a wine that helps to redefine Barossa Shiraz at the highest quality level.
