It’s tradition. When the clock strikes midnight on Jan. 1, people like to toast with champagne.

If you are not a fan of champagne why not to celebrate new year with sweet sparkling wine.

If you are looking for the bubbly recommendation for tomorrow's celebration you don't have to go far.

Happy Shopping!

Champagne

Dom Perignon 2004 - UP S$235   Now S$199

Robert Parker - 95

'Lily-of-the-valley perfume and scents of lightly toasted brioche and almond rise from the glass of Moet’s 2004 Brut Dom Perignon, along with hints of the apricot, pear and grapefruit that then inform a luscious and creamy yet strikingly delicate as well as consummately refreshing palate. Sweet-saline savor of scallop – also already intimated in the nose – lends compulsive saliva-inducement to a ravishingly rarified and persistent finish, joined by alkaline, nutty, liquid-floral, and nori seaweed notes for a performance of head-scratching subtlety and intrigue. (In case my description hasn’t already made clear, we have here inter alia a fantastic sushi wine.) This will be worth following for at least the next 6-8 years, in the course of demonstrating that iconic status as a luxury brand, and elevated (albeit secret) production numbers by no means preclude a wine of understated as well as profound beauty.'

Louis Roederer Cristal Brut 2006 w/box - UP: S$315   Now: S$250

Robert Parker - 93

'Roederer's 2006 Brut Cristal is striking in its sense of lift and delicacy, serving as one of many instances where those bringing preconceptions of this vintage's warmth and ripeness of fruit to their experience may be pleasantly surprised. A nose of fresh apple, fennel and cucumber sets up associations with a slaw or salad that are crisply, lusciously and refreshingly redeemed on the palate. A garland of honeysuckle and heliotrope complements subtle suggestions of raw almond and vanilla, while alkaline and iodine notes as well as cooling but pungent green herbal notes add to the soothing yet stimulating finish. This exceptionally poised, refined, and buoyant performance is apt to gain depth with a few years' bottle age.'

Veuve Fourny Blanc De Blancs 1er Cru NV - UP: S$89   Now: S$57.90

'A white juice from white hand-picked Chardonnay grapes, this cuvee reveals all the know-how of the Veuve Fourny House, with the blend of grapes from various plots from different harvests. Only pure Chardonnay from Vertus Premier Cru in this great cuvee : Liveliness and purity, finesse and elegance.'

Sparkling Wine

Moscato D'Asti Santo Stefano DOCG 2013  UP: S$49   Now S$35.00

A sweet white wine; par excellence in dessert wine. Straw-yellow in color, of varying intensity depending on the vintage, it has an intensely fruity and characteristically aromatic nose with a nice persistency. The sweet flavor is perfectly balanced with its low alcohol content and acidity, giving the wine an inviting freshness.

Villa Sandi Prosecco DOCG NV UP: S$38.90  Now: S$27.20

Tropical fruit flavors of guava, pineapple and mandarin orange are balanced by lively acidity, mixing with hints of apricot, nut and spice. This is lightly frothy, with a mouthwatering finish that echoes the fruit character.

Happy Celebration!
