This pumps lush fig, boysenberry and blackberry confiture notes along, pushed by a rather polished but ample structure. Lots of anise and violet details cascade in on the finish, giving this extra aromatic dimension. Best from 2020 through 2038.

Already back in 1680 when Jean-Baptiste Braneyre acquired the estate, he understood how exceptional this wonderful terroir was, made up mainly of stones, called “graves”. in the Medoc, and located so near the very wide Gironde estuary. These soils are unique in their mineral make up and are the cornerstone of our wine's special quality. Toghether with those of other prestigious neighbors they form the extraordinary little unit known around the world under the name of Saint-Julien. Their prestige was confirmed in 1855 when 61 chateaux were listed in the classification of Medoc Grands Crus and Branaire Ducru was one of them.
Branaire-Ducru produces a pure and classic St-Julien which is elegant, ripe, supple and well-balanced. It is classified as a 4ème Cru Classé.
