The 2021-release of Laphroaig's cask strength 25-year-old single malt has been matured exclusively in ex-bourbon casks for a quarter of a century, before being bottled in 2021. Sweet aromas of honey, pear drops, bubble gum and thyme open on the nose, followed by carnations, white pepper, damp peat, seaweed and lemon zest. The palate offers notes of heather honey, wood smoke, lime, iodine, black pepper, salt, clementine and medicinal herbs that linger in the finish.

Laphroaig distillery is an Islay single malt Scotch whisky distillery. It is named for the area of land at the head of Loch Laphroaig on the south coast of the Isle of Islay. The distillery and brand are owned and operated by the American spirits company Beam Inc. which has been bought by Japan's Suntory.
Laphroaig is one of the most strongly flavoured of all Scotch whiskies, and is most frequently aged to 10 years, although the 15- (now discontinued) and 18-year-old varieties are common (the 27-, 30- and 40-year-olds are rare and expensive). The company describes their whisky as the most distinctive of Scotch whisky. The whisky has a peaty/smokey flavour.
