This is a print for Chateau Mouton Rothschild in 2001 illustrated by artist Robert Wilson. For the label for Mouton Rothschild 2001, Bob Wilson has chosen to set his friend Philippine in a symphony of colours in which the green of the vine shoots and the gold of the sun harmonise with the chromatic scale of the wine, from light red to deep purple. The "label" is oversized with an image area of aprox. 16.5 cm x 23 cm on paper that is aprox. 34 cm x 47 cm.

Baron Philippe de Rothschild came up with the idea of having each year's Château Mouton Rothschild label designed by a famous artist of the day. In 1946, this became a permanent and significant aspect of the Mouton image with labels created by some of the world's great painters and sculptors. The popularity of the label images results in auction prices for older and more collectible years being far out of sync with the other first growths, whose labels do not change year to year.
