Tasted blind. Pale bronze. Lots of magnificent decay here on the nose. Relatively rich with low acid. Broad and very fully evolved. Rather sweet.

Winemaker's Note:
At first sight, a deep golden tone expressing both the sunshine and generosity of the year. On the nose, indulgent notes of plum tart, cinnamon, crème pâtissière and gingerbread. On the palate, opulence and creaminess combined with an amazing freshness, a lively festival of flavours: spices, brioche, candied, caramelized, citrus and dried fruit as well as notes of apricot, grapefruit, orange marmalade and lemon pie with lightly toasted nuts and a drizzle of fine liquid honey. A very long finish enhances the experience.

Krug was established in 1843 by Joseph Krug and has since specialised in producing only prestige and specialised champagnes. Krug is the only firm still producing all its champagne in small oak casks, an essential element for developing Krug's intense bouquet and complex flavours. Today, Henri, Rémi and Olivier Krug, who supervise every step of production, tasting and blending, represent the 5th and 6th generations.
With long periods of maturation (6-8 years), Krug champagne continues to age gracefully after release, developing an intensely rich, nutty flavour whilst remaining remarkably fresh.
